1) Summary
- No accounts, no ads, no trackers.
- Local-first: Tools like QR, Password/UUID, Hashing, Image→PDF, and PDF Split & Merge run in your browser.
- Server-assisted features (e.g., MP4→MP3, parts of Speed Test) process data transiently to produce your result, then discard it.
- Minimal logs: We keep short-retention, security-only logs (e.g., error rates, coarse metrics). We don’t build behavioral profiles.
2) Scope
This Policy covers samnet.dev and SamNet tools provided by SamNet IT Services.
3) Data We Avoid Collecting
We intentionally avoid collecting personal data. Specifically, we do not:
- Require accounts or passwords.
- Embed advertising or analytics trackers.
- Sell personal information.
4) Client-Side (Local) Tools
Many utilities (e.g., QR Code Generator, Password & UUID Generator, Hash Generator (text/files), Image→PDF, PDF Split & Merge) run entirely in your browser using JavaScript and Web APIs.
- Files and data stay on your device until you download or share them.
- We do not transmit those files to our servers.
5) Server-Assisted Features
Some features interact with SamNet servers to work as intended:
- MP4→MP3: Files are processed to produce your MP3, then discarded. We don’t keep your source media.
- Speed Test: Measures throughput/latency to SamNet; metrics are used to show you results and maintain service quality.
- What’s My IP? Computes your public IP and coarse geolocation for display; the result is not stored as a profile.
- VPN Leak Test: Performs checks (e.g., WebRTC/DNS) to detect leaks; results are shown to you and not used for tracking.
Where processing occurs on a server, it is transient and limited to providing your requested result.
6) Server Logs & Security
We maintain minimal server logs to secure the Service (e.g., error codes, performance counters, basic request info). Logs are kept for a short period, then rotated or aggregated. We use sanitized, aggregate monitoring to understand high-level health (rates, success) without building user profiles.
9) Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA)
Because we minimize collection, much of GDPR/CCPA may not apply. If you believe we hold your personal data and want access, correction, or deletion, contact [email protected]. We will respond as required by law.
10) Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a minor has provided personal data to us, contact us so we can delete it.
11) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted to this page. Your continued use means you accept the updated Policy.
