Length is king. A 16-character password with just lowercase letters is stronger than an 8-character one with symbols. Aim for 12+ characters minimum, 16+ for important accounts.
Avoid common patterns: dictionary words, keyboard patterns (qwerty), repeated characters (aaa), personal info (birthdays, names).
